Permitting is one of the most important stages of a construction project because it ensures the work meets all applicable building codes and local regulations before construction begins. Florida regulates construction activity through the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and the Construction Industry Licensing Board.
This includes both state-certified and locally registered contractor licensing requirements.
Private Provider Inspections
In Florida, some projects can use a licensed Private Provider to review plans and perform inspections instead of depending only on the city or county inspection schedule.
For eligible projects, CAG Proma works with Inspected, a Private Provider platform that helps coordinate inspections, organize documentation, and support code compliance during construction.
This does not remove Florida Building Code requirements. The project still has to meet the same standards. The difference is that inspections and documentation can often be coordinated more efficiently, helping reduce delays, improve communication, and keep the project moving with better control..
